From March to September 2001, young budding photographers captured scenic China on film for the "National Youth Photography Competition for the Promotion of Environmental Protection" sponsored by the Foundation in collaboration with the China Environmental Journalist Association.
Color of Life Drawn with Love
In December 2000 the Foundation sponsored the publication of "Child's Heart" showcasing drawings embroidered with the fantasies and innocence of young budding artists. Proceeds were donated to World Health Foundation and Shanghai Children's Medical Center.
Adoption of 2 Baby Pandas
To support the research and protection of rare endangered species, the Foundation adopted 2 cuddly baby pandas in Chengdu Panda Research Institute for life.
Guangxi Flood Relief Donation
The network of Tomorrow Primary Schools is an ambitious RMB15 million initiative to fund the building and renovation of primary schools in China's poorest regions. So far, 139 Tomorrow Primary Schools have provided children inYunnan Gansu Guangxi Sichuan Hebei Shaanxiprovinces with the basics of a good education: new classrooms, modern facilities, and the hope of a better tomorrow.
As we step into the 21st century, science and technology are fast becoming the dominant forces propelling the rapid development of a country. Countries around the world are looking to science and technology as the answer to growth. Once again, the burden of responsibility falls on the shoulders of youths.
The Foundation has created a "Female University Students of Tomorrow" scholarship program to fund the education of promising female students attending universities in western China.
There are already 1,000 female teachers preaching their knowledge of IT in poverty-stricken areas today. With the avowed support of the Foundation, there will be even more female teachers in the future overcoming the limitations posed by poverty, and even more students enjoying a better education. Together, a blooming tomorrow awaits them - and their country.
